We're now looking for a HR Specialist to join our team in Japan. 

YOUR CHALLENGE

Working closely with the local General Manager, and Regional People & Culture Function, this role will be focused on leading HR activities in the local organization in Japan. You will be responsible for the end-to-end employee life-cycle, including; recruitment, employee engagement, setting up structures and workflows, compensation + benefits, payroll, people management and general office administration/support. You will partner closely with the local organisation Management team to facilitate and support HR and people initiatives, activities, and projects. We are seeking a leader to come in and take ownership of the HR area. This role requires taking initiative and working independently as well as being a strong team player and positive contributor to the DW culture. The Reporting line is to the General Manager Japan, and will be part of a broad regional and global team.

Your main tasks are:

  • Talent acquisition and recruitment 
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding 
  • Coordinate and oversee the management and administration of Compensation & Benefits
  • Provide support to employees and managers on various HR-related topics
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
  • Oversee and manage compliance with labor and all relevant regulations
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Support and facilitate Learning & Development Activities
  • Provide strong partnership to the organization and business stakeholders
  • Arrange monthly, quarterly, and annual events based on business’ needs (such as social and team building initiatives)
  • Support operational and administration needs of the Office
  • Provide day-to-day support on all People and HR related activities

WHO YOU ARE

  • Minimum 3-4 years’ work experience in a broad/generalist HR role
  • Experience in recruitment and people management
  • Experience in end-to-end Employee Lifecycle
  • Strong C&B knowledge, with experience managing Payroll Processing
  • Strong knowledge of  local labor laws, employment, and workplace regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with stakeholders across the business
  • Experience in delivering and executing projects
  • Proactive with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Japanese and English
  • Strong team player and know how to have fun!

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related fields
  • Experience from retail and/ or fast-moving growth companies
  • Big interest in the next generation HR
